Police respond to bomb threat in Tompkins County

On Wednesday at about 11:30 a.m., the Ithaca Police Department responded to 115 Seneca Way, The Hilton Canopy Hotel, for the report of a bomb threat.

Management evacuated the building prior to police arrival. The Hotel and immediate area were searched by Explosive Detection K9 Units from The Ithaca Police Department and The Cornell University Police Department. No suspicious items were located.

Traffic in the area was diverted for about an hour and a half while the incident was investigated. The IPD was assisted on scene by the Cornell University Police and the Ithaca Fire Department.
