Geneva man charged after January shooting

On March 11th at approximately 8 p.m. an arrest was made at the public safety building in Geneva following a lengthy investigation into the late-January shooting that left one man hospitalized for more than a month.

Jose Escalera-Santiago, 29, of Geneva was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

It’s unclear what his role was in the incident.

The victim appeared at Geneva General Hospital’s emergency department with a gunshot wound. The individual was eventually transported to a Rochester-hospital.

Chief Michael Passalacqua says there are no other suspects. Additional charges are pending, he says.
