Police: Seneca Falls man charged with felony DWI after traffic stop

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a 50-year-old driver following a traffic stop on Black Brook Road.

Officers arrested Wayne E. Smith, 50, of Seneca Falls for felony driving while intoxicated.

They say the arrest stems from a traffic stop, which was initiated after Smith’s vehicle was seen operating erratically.

Police determined Smith was intoxicated and charged with DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.08, failure to keep right, and operating without an ignition interlock device.

Police said the DWI charges were both elevated to felony status due to a prior conviction.

He’s due back in court at a later date.
