For the first time since 1976, the Marcus Whitman Wildcats are Sectional champions.
The Wildcats varsity boys basketball team cruised past the Red Jacket Indians in the second half to win the Section V Class C1 Championship, 63-44 at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday night.

Ryan Herod scored a game-high 18 points for the Wildcats. Liam Predergast and Jordan Lahue each had 13. Chase Rizzo led Red Jacket with 16 points.
