Police say they’re investigating a serious crash, in which first responders and medical professionals had to revive the driver.
It happened on Thursday around 5:20 p.m. when the Ithaca Police Department was called to the 200 block of N. Tioga Street.
The crash was reported as a possible cardiac arrest, which resulted in a motor vehicle accident.
Officers say that when they arrived they found a 1998 Isuzu Trooper, sport utility vehicle, had collided with a light pole across a sidewalk.
The vehicle was operated by one person, and still running. The vehicle was still in drive, and first responders broke the window to enter.
The driver was unresponsive, and not breathing. Officers were able to secure the vehicle without any further damage, and first responders worked to revive and transport the driver.
The investigation remains open.
