A.C. Moore in Auburn won’t convert to Michaels, instead will close this month

A closure that was announced several months ago will become real this month as officials gear down to close A.C. Moore located along Grant Avenue.

The company announced recently that the store would not be converted into a Michaels craft store.

Overall, the company announced in November 2019 that more than 140 stores would be shut down. Around 30 of those would be rebranded.

The close date has been set for March 21st.

The store manager said that despite the announced closure in November, many of her staff stayed with the company and continued working hard.

She urged employers around Auburn to hire them if they appeared in hiring lists. “They are great people,” she told The Citizen.

No replacement has been identified yet for the plaza.
