Deputies say they responded to a personal injury crash at the intersection of State Routes 332 and 96 on Saturday around 12:45 p.m.
Investigators determined that John Schilbe, 62, of Rushville was traveling north on State Route 332 when he ran the red light – causing a crash with a vehicle operated by Ellen Storch, 75, of Farmington.
Deputies say Storch was traveling west on State Route 96. The initial collision then caused the vehicle Schilbe was operating to crash into an SUV, which was in the turning lane.
The operator of that vehicle, identified as Carrie Sinkler, 74, of Rochester was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance. The force of that secondary collision caused a fourth vehicle to be struck from behind.
New York State Police, Farmington Fire Department, and Farmington Highway officials were all on-scene.
Schilbe was issued a citation for running a red light.
