New York State Fair prices lowest they’ve been since 1980

State officials say the price of the New York State Fair is getting slashed.

Those prices will be among the lowest they have been in decades. In fact, they will be the lowest prices since 1980.

Tickets will cost $3 online and $5 at the gate. The Fair will still have a variety of free and low-cost admission days for certain groups and children age 12 and under will continue to get in for free.

On Thursday, prices will drop even lower. Tickets will cost $2 each. They can be purchased at etix.com.

“Admission prices at major fairs across the country continue to rise, which strains the ability of many families on ever-tighter budgets to enjoy a day together. We believe all New Yorkers should be able to come to their state’s fair to enjoy the many free and low-cost activities we provide while spending the money they do have to make the most of their day,” said Fair Director Troy Waffner.
