There is still a coalition of leaders and locals working to save professional baseball in Upstate New York.
According to U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer the Major League Baseball has agreed to keep the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
They were among the original 42 teams that would no longer have an affiliate at the next-level.
In the Finger Lakes, the Auburn Doubledays originally appeared on the list. However, officials with the club are taking things one day at a time.
There has been no final resolution offered by either side. But, it had been reported earlier that MLB would work to keep baseball – in some form – in these communities.
