Billions of dollars in federal funding has disappeared for New York.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says President Donald Trump is to blame for playing politics.
He says $8 billion in grant money was going to help the Medicaid delivery program which benefits the poor and middle class.
That will come with a price tag. This year alone, the cost to New York State will be about $600 million to handle that detail without federal reimbursement.
New York still hasn’t successfully closed the $4 billion budget gap caused by Medicaid overall.
Cuomo says he’s fighting the move, but the White House hasn’t responded. He met with President Trump a couple weeks ago over the future of the Green Light Law, and DMV records, as well.
