Deputies: Bath man charged with six counts of misuse of food stamps

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 27-year-old Bath resident following an investigation into stolen public benefits.

Derrick Ritchie, 27, is accused of using another person’s benefit card issued by Steuben County DSS in November 2018.

Deputies say that the person who was entitled to the benefits was incarcerated at the time.

Ritchie is accused of receiving upwards of $241 in benefits. He was charged with six counts of misuse of food stamps, and petit larceny.

He was issued an appearance ticket.
