Officials in Yates County are excited about the prospect of millions in funding for broadband expansion.
Nonie Flynn, who was recently named permanent county administrator is no exception.
Altogether $10 million in federal funds are on the way to help expand access to broadband in the rural county.
“The federal funding that came through for Yates is a huge game-changer,” Flynn said to Finger Lakes News Radio. “Not just for residents but for education systems, medical systems, libraries, businesses – everyone.”
As for the moment she knew that federal funds were coming to Yates – Flynn called it thrilling.
