Cuomo and Trump will meet to talk TTP, Green Light Law at White House

Governor Andrew Cuomo will meet with President Donald Trump today.

That meeting comes after a testy war of words over the weekend, which unfolded on Twitter, after the federal government stopped New York’s allowed participation in trusted traveler programs.

A meeting at the White House was scheduled for Thursday.

The two will discuss the federal action that blocked New Yorkers from taking part in trusted traveler programs due to the State’s Green Light Law, according to News10NBC.

Cuomo still maintains his position that the feds will never have full access to DMV records for law enforcement purposes, but he did suggest a compromise.

“I don’t believe that DMV database has anything to do with what’s called the ‘T.T.P.’ program. If they want DMV data for those ‘TTP’ people, and enrollees on a case by case basis they can have it,” Cuomo said. “But I don’t think it’s about any facts. I think it’s about politics.”
