Retail is struggling. At least the brick-and-mortar type.
Department stores across the U.S. posted disappointing results for the 2019 holiday season, according to Money.com. As result, stores like Kohl’s, J.C. Penney, and Macy’s are reacting.
Macy’s announced a series of closings – 125 of them to be exact – over the next three years. Some of those stores are already in the process of shutting down.
While the full-list hasn’t been updated or released by the company – neither location in the Rochester-area was included. Locations in the Syracuse-area also appeared safe.
The company said that closures were going to be limited to the worst performers across the business.
