LeadOn hopes to create solutions, develop future leadership goals in Ontario County

A new initiative has taken shape in Ontario County to find the next generation of leadership.

Leadership Ontario, or LeadOn, is a new organization taking off this fall. They are accepting applications now.

The program is administered by The Partnership for Ontario County, and designed to attract community leaders from diverse backgrounds who are committed to staying involved in the community long-term.

It’s a challenge that the region, as a whole, has been working to address.

“We have been working on this for a year or two. We are happy to see it finally come to fruition,” Tracey Dello Stritto, the Partnership’s executive director, told the Finger Lakes Times. “Ontario County is poised and primed for this. We want to make sure people here are happy and want to stay here.”

The Times reports that participants will help address critical issues facing the county. They also can strengthen leadership skills and build connections with others in the program.
