Auburn City Council moves weekly meetings from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Some things are changing in Auburn.

City Council, which meets weekly on Thursdays, will move sessions an hour earlier.

It’s a move that’s historically occurred during the summer, when the weather improves and days get longer. However, it’s one that Chuck Mason, City Clerk, tells Finger Lakes News Radio was necessary when the current Council looked at ways to improve turnout.

“They decided to go with the 5 p.m. start time to simplify things,” he told Finger Lakes News Radio. He says it will be a test, but doesn’t anticipate any issues.
