You can own a part of history!
Maybe. Depending on how things go over the next several months.
Syracuse University is working through the process of determining what they will do with sections of the old Carrier Dome roof, once it comes down as part of the renovation process.
The dome roof went up in 1999. At least the material that sits overtop the Carrier Dome.
Apparently, the plan is to sell it in sections.
“We’re actually working with a couple of vendors to get that figured out… It’s something we’re going to do,” Carrier Dome Managing Director Pete Sala told NewsChannel 9.
Sala mentioned a possible vendor to facilitate the sale of roof pieces: Steiner Sports Memorabilia, a national company known for selling game-used products and signed collectibles.
A $118 million project is on schedule, and expected to be completed by next fall.
