An Auburn man is facing a number of felony charges after burglarizing a local residence, and assaulting the person inside.

Vincent Deangelis, 42, of Auburn was arrested on Monday after police received a tip about his location. He was wanted in connection to a Grant Avenue burglary, which happened on January 12th around 1:30 a.m.

Deangelis was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

The victim, who was not identified, had to be treated at Upstate University Hospital.

More charges and arrests are possible, according to police, who called the investigation open and active.

Bail was set at $50,000 for Deangelis. A preliminary hearing is set for Friday.
