Police: Seneca Falls man arrested on two felony charges after domestic incident

Police say that a 51-year-old Seneca Falls man was arrested after investigation into a domestic incident that occurred on Thursday.

On Friday at 10:28 a.m. police were called to a residence in Seneca Falls for the report of a domestic incident.

Upon arrival they determined that the victim was not in immediate danger, and that the incident had occurred the night before.



Police say the victim had a court order of protection against the suspect, identified as John Spires, 51, of Seneca Falls. He was still at the residence, and taken into custody for violating the order.

He was charged with criminal contempt. The contempt charge was elevated to a felony count due to previous convictions.

Spires was also charged with aggravated family offense, another felony charge. He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to be arraigned.
