Central New York killer to be portrayed in new Lifetime movie

A new Lifetime movie will air this weekend, and the subject of it will be one of Central New York’s most-prolific murder cases.

“Poisoned Love: The Stacey Castor Story” will premiere February 1st at 8 p.m. on Lifetime, starring Nia Vardalos as Stacey Castor.

CNYCentral reports that Castor was convicted for the poisoning death of her husband and for trying to do the same to her daughter. She later died of a heart attack at the age of 48 in a maximum-security women’s prison in Westchester County in New York.

Prosecutors said at the time that Castor poisoned David Caster over a four-day weekend. She used a kitchen baster to slip him the antifreeze, and then staging the scene to make it appear he was depressed, had gotten drunk and then killed himself by drinking the toxic liquid.
