Police say that a Canandaigua woman was taken into custody in the city after a brief pursuit following an attempted traffic stop.
The Canandaigua Police Department reports that on Saturday around 12:30 p.m. they attempted a traffic stop on Gibson Street.
The operator of the vehicle, identified as Hailing’s Murphy, 29, of Canandaigua then fled the stop and abandoned her vehicle on Saint Johns Court.
She ran on foot before being taken into custody on North Main Street.
Police say Murphy’s driver’s license was suspended and there was an active warrant for her arrest. She was issued an appearance ticket for new charges, which included failure to obey a police officer, passing a stop sign, failing to signal, and unlicensed operator.
She was then turned over to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on the other charges.
