Not a lot of new information.
That was the takeaway from an inquiry made by the Finger Lakes Times for more information about a shooting investigation launched Sunday morning.
That investigation began when police were called to Geneva General Hospital for a gunshot victim, who walked into the hospital’s emergency room.
Chief Mike Passalacqua said that an update to the press would be coming via email, but no timeline was indicated.
The male had not been identified by police when they initially announced the investigation. The shooting happened during the early-morning hours.
The injuries suffered by the victim were classified as life-threatening. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital after initial treatment at Geneva General Hospital.
One thing Passalacqua did note in his update to the FLT was that the location remains unknown.
“There is no location of the shooting released because we do not know exactly where this occurred,” he said to the Times.

Man shows up to Geneva General with gunshot wound; transported to Strong Memorial Hospital
The Geneva Police Department is investigating a shooting, which occurred during the early-morning hours on Sunday.
Around 2:21 a.m. police were called to Geneva General Hospital for the report of a male victim who showed up there with a gunshot wound to the back.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The victim was subsequently transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
Chief Michael Passalacqua said the investigation is ongoing. “This investigation has been active and ongoing since it was reported to police early this morning. Through the investigation thus far and where it has led us, we are confident that there is no threat to the community at this time. We will not be releasing any information on the identity of the victim or alleged suspect(s) at this time,” he said.
