Republicans officially have a candidate in the race for the 27th Congressional District in Western New York.
That district includes part of Ontario County; and will see a special election this spring.
The Republican chairs of the 27th District endorsed State Sen. Chris Jacobs for the seat.
It was held by Chris Collins until his resignation in 2019 ahead of a guilty plea for insider trading.
Senator Robert Ort and Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw were also interviewed, before the chairs selected Jacobs.
He’s currently a state senator in the 60th District.
