Police say Timothy Bennett, 51, of Penn Yan was arrested on Saturday after receiving complaint that an order of protection had been violated.
Police located Bennett at the location, which was in violation of the court order.
Investigation determined that Bennett had been contacted a protected party by phone, which also violated the court order.
He was charged with aggravated family offense, a Class E felony. Police say the felony charge was filed due to a previous conviction
Bennett was also charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt.
He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in village court at a later date.
The Penn Yan Police Department cited this as an example of risks associated with new bail reform measures, which were implemented earlier this month.
