As a way to embrace tourism in cold, snowy Upstate New York – specifically the Finger Lakes Region – New York State is backing a new tourism campaign.
It’s called “Where Brave Women Winter” and aims to increase awareness of the region where some of the nation’s most-prominent equal rights trailblazers left their mark on the U.S.
The Finger Lakes Times reports that the initiative has drawn together a number of counties that have been supported by the state’s regional tourism council’s efforts to bolster tourism and economic development.
It begins in Seneca Falls this weekend with the three-day Women March in Seneca Falls. The campaign also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
