Canandaigua driver charged with DWI after November crash that ended with vehicle engulfed in flames

Police say an 80-year-old Canandaigua resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following an investigation into a one-car crash that happened in late-November.

Robert Erdle, 80, of Canandaigua was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC over 0.08 percent, and several other traffic violations.

Police investigated the crash that happened on Western Boulevard on November 30th when it occurred. They say that the vehicle became engulfed in flames after the crash, too.

Police say Erdle was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. He was recently ticketed for his role in the crash.
