Highway shut down temporarily after box truck collides with NYS DOT plow in Cortland County

Give the plows some space.

A portion of I-81 was temporarily closed during the early-morning hours in Homer after a box truck driver slammed into the back of a state plow.

Oscar Osnay Zambrana Reynoso, 28, was traveling south on I-81 when he vehicle rear-ended the plow.

Zambrana Reynoso has to be extracted from his vehicle and was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

Police say he was ticketed for following too closely, failure to use a designated lane, and for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

The driver of the plow truck was not injured.
