Penn Yan man had BAC twice the legal limit during traffic stop

Police say that a Penn Yan man was cited on several charges – including DWI – after a traffic stop in the village on Friday.

Gregg Conley, 59, of Penn Yan was charged with DWI, DWI within the last 10 years, DWI common law, failure to signal prior to 100′, and failure to keep right.

He was observed by police committing several traffic citations on Liberty Street. He was placed through a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Police say Conley submitted to a breath test, where his BAC was determined to be 0.17%. He was released to appear in village court at a later date.
