Vogue Magazine is calling The Lake House on Canandaigua one of the most anticipated hotel openings of 2020.
Not just in the region, either. The list includes hotels across the entire globe, who they say will make the biggest splash in 2020.
The Sands Family acquired the hotel when it was the Inn on the Lake. They shut it down in 2018, it was demolished, and construction of the new hotel began.
“The brother and sister co-founders of the Brooklyn Home Company, Bill and Lyndsay Caleo, are originally from the Finger Lakes Region of New York. So when it came time to try their hands at a hospitality project, they decided home was where their hearts were,” Elise Taylor wrote for Vogue. “Together, they created a lakefront compound in Canandaigua, complete with timber-framed event barn, a wellness center and a bar perched right on the water.”
The property has been getting a ton of attention over the last several weeks, and the anticipated opening is sometime in mid-2020.
