Police: Penn Yan man drove car with flat tire to residence, violating protective order

Police say a 53-year-old Penn Yan man drove his vehicle to a residence in the village, violating an order of protection, with a flat tire.

He was arrested on multiple charges.

Police identified the operator of the vehicle with a flat tire as John Edward Mattero, 53, of Penn Yan. He was charged with criminal contempt and unsafe tires.

Officers responded after receiving a call for a person who was at a residence in the village, which was a violation of an order of protection. Upon arrival, they confirmed that Mattero had violated the order, and took him into custody.

When police arrived they learned that the vehicle Mattero drove to the residence had at least one flat tire, and was rolling on the rim.

He was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
