The Belleville Senators rolled past the Syracuse Crunch, 7-3, tonight at the Upstate Medical University Arena.
After giving up the first goal, the Crunch potted two to go on top, but the Senators responded with a five-goal run to build a demanding lead on their way to victory. The loss moves Syracuse to 15-12-2-0 on the season and 1-1-0-0 in the four-game season series against Belleville.
Crunch netminder Spencer Martin turned aside 20-of-26 shots, while Joey Daccord stopped 22-of-25 in net for the Senators. Syracuse converted on 2-of-5 power plays and went a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
Belleville was first on the board 2:45 into the game. Joseph LaBate dug the puck out from the end boards for Parker Kelly to fake a shot before flipping to his backhand to net the opening tally. Cole Cassels recorded the secondary helper.
