One of the Democrats vying to run for the empty seat in New York’s 27th Congressional District has stepped out of the race.
Health Care Policy Expert Melodie Baker withdrew unexpectedly from the race, which has been unrepresented since Chris Collins resigned in September 2019.
No specific reason was given. However, Baker said she will support another candidate in the race for NY-27.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has suggested that a special election could be held in the spring, but no specific announcement has been made yet.
