Corning man charged with DWI after two-car wreck on I-86

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on Friday deputies arrested a 53-year-old Corning resident following a two-vehicle personal injury crash on I-86 in Erwin.

Sheriff Allard reports that David Rumiano, 53, of Corning was operating his vehicle while in an intoxicated condition – causing a collision with another vehicle.

Both occupants of the second vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment and later released.

Sheriff Allard says Rumiano was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC over 0.08%, and failure to stay in designated lane.

Rumiano was released on a traffic summons to answer the charges at a later date.

Sheriff Allard thanked first responders who acted quickly at the scene.
