Deputies: Sodus woman sold EBT card for drugs

Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Social Services say a 30-year-old Sodus resident was arrested after it was found she used an EBT card belonging to a deceased person.

Kayla Harris, 30, of Sodus was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to police. She’s accused of selling two EBT cards for drugs earlier in the year.

Investigation determined that those cards were used illegally in the city of Rochester. Altogether $265 worth of SNAP benefits were stolen.

Harris was charged with criminal use of a public benefit card, identity theft, and petit larceny. She was processed and issued an appearance ticket.
