Police: Victim spent days in the hospital, suspect was charged with felony assault

Less than two weeks after being arrested on a felony assault charge, a Seneca Falls man was taken into custody again after he was released on his own recognizance for violating the order of protection established to protect the victim who spent days in the hospital after the first incident.
Dustin Parker, 32, of Seneca Falls was expected to stay away from the business where the assault took place, and also stay away from the victim’s personal property.
Police say Parker was arrested on Thursday around 9:30 p.m. after he returned to the property. Employees of the business spotted him – and alerted authorities.
Parker was taken into custody without further incident, and charged with criminal trespass and criminal contempt – both misdemeanors.
Police say he was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. He’s due back in court at a later date to answer the charges.

Seneca Falls Police Chief Stuart Peenstra says a town resident was left seriously injured, and hospitalized in Rochester after an assault on November 24th.
Dustin Parker, a 32-year-old, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility this week.
Police say Parker engaged in a physical altercation with a resident at a local business.
The person who police identified as the victim was employed at the local business where the incident unfolded.
Chief Stuart Peenstra provided additional details on the victim’s condition Thursday evening.
He said the victim was initially transported to Geneva General Hospital – then transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. He says the victim remained hospitalized there for a few days before being released. Peenstra says the victim suffered serious injuries.
Police said in a press release that Parker was released on his own recognizance. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, and the victim’s employer – but Peenstra says this is the type of situation many in law enforcement are expecting once bail reform changes take hold on January 1st.
