The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two people on felony charges following a drug investigation led by the Narcotics Unit.
Investigators say Shannon Markel, 30, and Florencio Alicea, 34, were both charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.
Markel was charged with an additional count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to investigators.
The two are accused of selling Suboxone to another person in the County. At the time of Markel’s arrest – she was also found to be possessing suspected fentanyl.
Investigators say the drug sales took place in Waterloo; and while neither Markel or Alicea had a permanent address – they are said to be long-term Seneca County residents.
They were held at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center pending arraignment.
