Deputies: Icy conditions led to two-car crash in Wayne County

Deputies say two people were transported to Rochester General Hospital after a two-car crash in Williamson on Thursday.

They say the crash was caused by icy conditions when Connor Smeatin, 23, of Marion was traveling north on Pease Road. Deputies say he wasn’t able to stop at the intersection with Ridge Road, and slid into a second vehicle operated by Brian Cantwell, 56, of Williamson.

Both Cantwell, and his passenger were transported to RGH with apparent minor injuries.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says they were assisted at the scene by Williamson Ambulance and the Williamson Fire Department.
