A tradition going 25 years strong kept going Wednesday at Midlakes Elementary School.
Staff working in the cafeteria donated their time and ingredients in the morning to make 125 trays of cookies that will go out to the community.
From sugar cookies to chocolate chip, there were 10-12 people who came in on their day off to make the baked goods.
“It just makes us feel good about being able to give back,” said Darlene Swank, cook manager at Midlakes Elementary School. “It’s just a gift from the heart. The kids mean a lot to us here, that’s why we’re all here.”
