Geneva officer accused of choking woman will have court appearance on Monday

The Geneva City Police Officer accused of choking a woman to the point of unconsciousness at the Public Safety Building will appear in court on Monday, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

They report that Jack Montesanto will make his first court appearance at 1:30 p.m.

Montesanto was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing following the incident at booking.

He has been on unpaid suspension since the arrest in late-July.

Montesanto remains free on his own recognizance at this time.
