Police: Penn Yan resident displayed shotgun during physical domestic incident

Police say they arrested a 21-year-old Penn Yan resident following a violent domestic incident on Friday.

Around 8:24 p.m. the Penn Yan Police Department arrested Ivy Rose Gottshall, 21, an Elm Street resident on multiple charges – including menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, assault, harassment, and a felony count of aggravated family offense.

Police say they were called to the scene on Elm Street following the reported domestic incident, which turned physical. Gottshall is accused of subjecting two village residents to unwanted physical contact.

Police say she also struck one of the victims over the head with a metal rack numerous times causing injury. Gotshall then displayed a shotgun – threatening to use it.

The incident took place in the presence of a young child, according to police, which resulted in the EWOC charge.

Police transported Gottshall to the Yates County Jail pending arraignment.
