Snow tapers by nightfall, PM commute much better
Update: 1 p.m.
By 7 p.m. the National Weather Service says the Winter Storm Warning, which has been active for the last 24 hours should be allowed to expire.
Highway crews around the region have kept motorists moving, as primary roads have been mostly reported as wet. While some restrictions are still active on eastern portions of the New York State Thruway and most of I-81 – progress is being made in the Finger Lakes.
Snow showers will continue to taper off as the day progresses. The evening commute will likely still be a little slower than normal, but nothing that can’t be handled.

To our west, a large spiral marks the upper level cyclone set to bring the dynamics for snow tonight/tomorrow #PAwx pic.twitter.com/DDZstWARfV
