Police investigating shots fired in Ithaca

Police in Ithaca are investigating a report of shots fired along a stretch of W. Spencer Street.

When officers arrived they located shell casing and a house that had been hit by six bullets. Officers say they spoke with several residents of the area, who said they heard shots fired.

One witness said they heard gun shots and observed a small vehicle fleeing the scene in a southwest direction.

Officers did not locate a victim, or suspect.

The investigation is active, and anyone with information is asked to call 607-272-3245.
