Police say a 31-year-old Penn Yan woman is facing child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving a young child unattended for days.
Ashley Pelham, 31, of Penn Yan is accused of leaving New York State with two people for Delaware – leaving a 10-year-old child unattended from Sunday until Wednesday.
Pelham was subsequently charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
The child was removed from the home by Yates County Child Protective Services and is under foster care now.
An investigation is underway involving Penn Yan Police and CPS.
They say additional charges are possible.
