Village of Lansing considers new short term housing rules

Due to recent concerns expressed by residents regarding regulation of short term rental housing in the Village of Lansing, the village planning board held a discussion at its meeting on Nov. 11 to begin the early stages of solving this issue.



Board member Carolyn Greenwald typed up a memo of the situation and passed it out to the rest of the board and those in the audience. In her memo, Greenwald wrote that there were three primary concerns regarding short term rentals in the village: (1) neighbor noise and parking complaints, (2) adverse impact on the neighborhood as a community and (3) adverse impact on available affordable housing stock.
