Driver leads police on chase in Canandaigua, then abandons vehicle at apartment complex

Police report the arrest of a Rochester man in Canandaigua after a driver abandoned his vehicle, and fled into an apartment complex following an attempted traffic stop.

Jarmel Glass, 38, of Rochester was taken into custody on Tuesday around 1:11 a.m.

Police say Glass failed to stop for police when he was observed speeding on North Main Street. He led officers on a brief pursuit – before abandoning his vehicle at the Camelot Apartment Complex.

He then attempted to evade police one out, but was taken into custody after a foot chase around the complex.

Glass was charged with obstructing governmental administration, failure to comply with a lawful order, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, and speed in zone.

Police say he was taken to the Ontario County Jai pending arraignment.
