Deputies say a Wayne County man was arrested on multiple charges following an investigation into an assault that took place on Saturday in Lyons.
Michael S. Hutchings, 30, of Lyons was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after investigation into the incident.
Deputies say that Hutchings struck a male victim in the face multiple times, then took a glass cup and struck the victim in the back of the head.
The incident took place in the presence of a child, who was asleep in the living room of the home where the assault occurred.
The victim, who was not identified, was transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital where they were treated and released.
Hutchings was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment. An order of protection was requested by the victim, according to deputies.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
