Yankees’ DJ LeMahieu has already been awarded a Silver Slugger this offseason, and on Thursday he followed that up by finishing fourth in AL MVP voting.
Angels star Mike Trout took home his third AL MVP award in the past six years, after receiving 17 of the 30 first-place votes and a total of 355 points. He beat out Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, who finished second after receiving the other 13 first-place votes and had 335 points. Oakland A’s shortstop Marcus Semien finished third with 22 third-place votes and 228 points overall.
LeMahieu ended up with six third-place votes, 10 fourth-place votes, and a total of 178 points.
He batted .327 this season and set career-highs in three major categories: 26 home runs, 33 doubles, and 102 RBI in 145 games. LeMahieu was also an All-Star in 2019 and had a career-high .518 slugging percentage.
