WHAM, WHEC, WXXI, and WROC will go dark this weekend for maintenance

If you watch local TV stations over the air or using a service other than Spectrum cable, or you listen to WXXI radio stations over the air, you won’t be able to access them during some overnight and morning hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

WHAM-TV (Channel 13) is doing work at its transmission site, which it shares with WHEC-TV (Channel 10), WROC-TV (Channel 8), WXXI-TV (cable channel 11) and WXXI radio, WHEC said in a statement. For safety reasons, “when one station does maintenance work on the transmitter, ALL stations must shut down,” it said.

WHEC said the TV stations will be dark from around 1 to 4 a.m. Friday, and 1 to 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday to over-the-air antenna users and DirecTV and Dish subscribers.
