Felony charges in Geneva after fake $100 bill found

On Tuesday at approximately 10:45 a.m. the Geneva Police Department arrested a 31-year-old Bellerose resident on felony charges after attempting to make a fraudulent purchase using a fake $100 bill.

Joshua A. Cabiness, 31, of Bellerose was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. The Class C felony charge resulted in Cabiness being held on $5,000 bail.

Police say that he intended to defraud another person with the fake $100 bill at a business in Geneva.

No other details were released by police.
