Hornell man violates order of protection, tried preventing officers from fingerprinting him

Deputies arrested a Hornell man on felony charges following an investigation into a violated order of protection.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports that 25-year-old Jared Hethcox, of Hornell violated an order of protection from jail – while incarcerated during the months of October and November.

Deputies say he contacted a protected party by phone on multiple occasions.

While being processed on a felony contempt charge – deputies say Hethcox refused to cooperate. He was charged with obstructing governmental administration, too.

Hethcox has been returned to the Steuben County Jail, according to deputies.
